Video Feature: Kyle Rapps “Rent” (Remix) Feat. KRS-One
As Kyle Rapps continues to celebrate the release of his debut EP, Re-Edutainment, the NJ-born, NY-based emcee is excited to release his second video from the project for the song, “Rent (Remix)” featuring the legendary KRS-One. Fans may remember the original, released back when Kyle was still performing under the moniker Black Skeptik, but this new version of the video provides a darker feel, a perfect pairing with the vibe felt through the song’s instrumental and message.

Video: A.Dd+ – “Likeamug” Feat. Sore Losers
Just last week, Dallas, Texas rap duo A.Dd+ released the lead single from their upcoming album, When Pigs Fly, which is produced entirely by Picnic Tyme of Erykah Badu’s Cannabinoids and will be released on March 28th. Further pushing the hard-hitting, synth booming single, “Likeamug,” the group has just finished filming, and is now releasing a music video to accompany the track. Dallas representatives to the core, not only did the duo choose to premiere the video with the cities local weekly, the Dallas Observer, but the video features some hometown landmarks. “We wanted to make sure we represented Dallas the proper way,” explains A.Dd+ on selecting locations, which include a neighborhood school auditorium and local record store. “So far the city has been very good to us, and we wanted to be good right back.”
This light-hearted video, directed by Picnic Tyme, features rappers Slim Gravy, Paris Pershun, and Brown, of Sore Losers wreaking havoc in a record store – the Dallas staple Good Records, in this case – and swiping some vinyl, all the while recalling one of the scenes from the movie Juice. Unfortunately for the trio, this version ends with Paris, Slim, and Brown being picked up by Dallas’ Finest – and no, we don’t mean Cowboys’ cheerleaders, although we can all be certain that Slim, Paris, and Brown wished Dallas PD looked more like the officer that cuffs them in this video.

MadC – 700 Wall
This massive wall by MadC is done and covers over 680m2 of wall space.. MadC is known for massive and detailed concept walls. This year she broke her own record and painted her biggest and most elaborate concept wall ever. Just herself, without help.
700 Wall – Final Update from Molotow on Vimeo.
“And for those out there who like numbers a lot: some days I went up and down the ladder more than 500 times; fell off the ladder 4 times; counted in days I painted more than 4 months every day at least 10 hours; I used 1489 cans; 158 different colours; 600+ caps; 3 different kind of caps, 100 liters primer; 140 liters exterior paint; painted at temperatures from +2C° to +38C° in sunshine, rain, storm, day and night; painted my biggest and smallest piece so far and overall painted my name far more than 100 times on this wall. I’m curious if anyone will guess or find out how many there actually are. I made only one exception from solely painting MadC pieces on this wall. Special place in my heart – special place on my wall.” ~ MadC

Richie Hawtin Recalls Detroit Warehouse Days
Okay, so we stole this info off spinner, but we had to. This really hits close to home. We wanted to share it.
Richie Hawtin has long been the face of a faceless genre, a Plastikman wandering a concrete world. Over the past two decades, the legendary DJ and producer has ascended to the top of techno’s writhing heap. He’s gone from crossing the Windsor border to throw parties in dystopian Detroit — elevating his Plastikman persona into minimal techno’s psychedelic standard-bearer — to his current status as one of Berlin’s premiere bohemians, dance music’s most ambitious mind and a big enough star to headline sprawling festivals and sweaty clubs around the globe.
Though Hawtin has always been a futurist, this year the 40-year-old decided to take a look backwards and fill his new fans in on what came before. First, he unearthed Plastikman as an unprecedented live multimedia spectacle, and now he’s digging up the ‘Arkives’ for a comprehensive and special-ordered Plastikman boxset.
Before his current North American DJ tour, the Canadian dance icon stopped by Toronto’s Bell Lightbox Theatre to speak to Spinner about dirty Detroit warehouses, hallucinogenic inspirations and bringing the ’90s underground experience to a new generation.
The 11-disc ‘Arkives’ will be made-to-order and purchases will be accepted via Hawtin’s label website, www.M-nus.com, only until Dec. 31.
Richie Hawtin North American Tour Dates:
Nov 17 – Windsor
Nov 18 – Toronto
Nov 19 – Montreal
Nov 20 – Brooklyn, New York
Nov 22 – Washington DC
Nov 24 – Detroit, MI
Nov 25 – Chicago, IL
Nov 26 – Milwaukee, WI
Nov 27 – Miami

“I know very well that I’m out of your life. But the day I die, I now you’ll have to cry..to cry and cry. You may say you never loved me. But you’re going to be really sad and that’s how you’re going to stay. A stone in the journey taught me that my destiny was to roll and roll…to roll and roll…Then a cowboy told me you don’t have to get there first. But you have to know how to get there. With or without money I always do what I want. And my words are the law. I don’t have a throne or a queen. Or anyone who understands me. But I’m still the king” His name is Saúl Ezqueda and he is a Mariachi.
