Artist of the Moment - Dan McPharlin

Dan McPharlin, an Australian based artist and designer, has been getting some press for some of his work involving some of his creative work with paper and cardboard. Dan has been creating miniature vintage synthesizers for various projects with just that. Every piece has perfect detail right down to every know and switch. First of all with all the new technology and soft synths that have changed to way we make and listen to music, this is a wonderful thing. I wish that more people would have such an appreciation for vintage gear that they incorporated their love into their art. It’s vital that the people remember where synthesized sound originated. J. DePino - Dusty 45’s

"Dusty Rhodes"

Inspired by an old crate of 45’s sitting his basement, J. DePino put together this beat tape, Dusty 45’s. You’ll hear some classic samples that might sound a little familiar to some of you and some that you may not of heard. These tracks have that dirty vinyl sound and you can tell they are some grimy old 45’s and some good old analog machines.

Installations From the Past

This installation was part of a two-lot exhibition space that once existed in Houston, TX. The building itself and the lot adjacent to it were used for exhibitions and art classes for roughly 30 years. This specific installation, was created and torn down in 2005, as a grand farewell to the history and culture that the projects had stood for. The lot has been demolished and we really don’t know what is in it’s place, but we are sure that it does not compare. We just thought that you might get a kick out of this. CHECK IT OUT!
